States Available for Filing OnLine Taxes will be adding states throughout the season as we obtain final approval for each state. Click here to see if your state is available yet.

OnLine Taxes will be supporting all State income tax returns. However, there are 9 states that do not require a state income tax return to be filed. If you live in Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington or Wyoming, you only need to file your Federal Income Tax Return with the IRS.

If your state is not yet available, you may be able to file your state tax return through the State Only program. For more information on State Only Filing, see below.

To access the program to file both your Federal and State Return or your State Only Return, click here to select your state. You may also file both income tax returns through the home page. Be sure to answer "yes" to the question about filing your state income tax return.

State Only Filing

OnLine Taxes supports "State Only" returns for those states that participate. State Only filing allows you to file your state income tax return separate from your federal income tax return.

Click here to make sure your state supports State Only filing.

A few reasons why you may need to file your state income tax return separately from your federal income tax return:

  • The state income tax return was sent back needing corrections and needs to be resubmitted.
  • The federal income tax return was already filed.
  • The state income tax return requires a different filing status than the federal income tax return.

There are many other reasons why it would be necessary to file a State Only income tax return.

OnLine Taxes requires you to enter all of your federal tax information when filing your State Only return. This will ensure that the calculations for your state return are accurate.

If you have already filed your Federal Income Tax Return through OnLine Taxes, simply log back in to the site with your same username and password and you will have the option to file State Only once your state is available.

If you need to make corrections, do not reenter your information. Simply log in to your existing return to correct the error and resubmit.
